Damn you. You got me back on carandclassic again.

Found Ford RS200 (1986), for GBP£199,495 (or rather USD$307,740). Bargain. Where's my chequebook?

- Very Rare Rally Spec Transmission

- Factory Power upgrade to 350bhp

- Only 1072 miles from new

- Factory Lamp Pod

We are very pleased to own and be able to offer for sale this very rare example of the Ford RS 200 - almost certainly the finest available, the perfect addition to any collection.

The RS200 is rare in itself but this car left the factory equipped with the unusual and desirable Rally Spec transmission enabling the driver to fine tune the drive - shown by the additional stick by the gear lever. This vehicle also benefits from leaving the factory with a power output of 350bhp - as per the RS200S models. The lamp pod was also on the car when it left the factory.

It has spent most of its life in the hands of notable collectors and as a result has only covered 1,072 miles in total. It is a 1986 car, first registered for export in the UK in 1989 but only registered fully since 2011 in the UK - it includes the works style number plate of C20 OOR.

This is surely the best example of it's type available today and a must for any serious supercar / Group B / Ford RS collector. The car visited the fore most authority on this model, Geoff Page Racing, in March 2012 to have a full health check and service to keep it original and in perfect running order. It is still presented on it's original Pirelli tyres and with the running in sticker inside the windscreen. A full history of the car is present in the file from the original handwritten factory invoice and registration document.

Back during the great recession, there was a non-evo Rs200 in Las Vegas for sale at about $50k. What would you wager the price would be today? $200? $250?

Cars which they had trouble selling and have to give discounts on...

Bearing in mind they will be a lot rarer in the U.S. than here................................. I'd hazard a guess one going for $200,000 easily. They are relatively rare here also with many sitting in museums and wealthy peoples garages as a garage queen, rarely being put to their intended use.

I was sold at "factory lamp pod."

If I were to buy that (not that I can, but if I could and did) it wouldn't be low miles and original tires for long.

And that is how it should be. They are made for driving.
